There is no need of a separate article on VC, everything can be found in the Hero Twins article. Apart from this, the article has been badly written and conceived.77.162.130.13915:03, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that this article-stub is presently deficient, and in need of a decent overhaul.
However, I disagree that there is no need for a separate article on this entity. There's a fair amount of additional useful info that can be sourced and expanded upon here, apart from simply recounting the Hero Twins' encounter with VC as written in the Popol Wuj. For example, the various proposed relationships/overlaps with the Principal Bird Deity could be explored, and other iconographic representations of VC can be detailed. Depictions such as on Izapa Stela 2 are relevant, also several vase illustrations of the 'blowgun' episode. The aspectual relationship noted with Itzamna[aj] and similarities with the Zapotecan 'Ave de pico ancho' would also bear mentioning. The context and interpretations of the Vucub Caquix-Hero Twins encounter related in the Popol Wuj could also be enlarged upon. I don't think that either the Maya Hero Twins or Popol Vuh articles would be the best place to document all these. --cjllwʘTALK03:34, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the work on this, Retal, much improved, a bit of tidying up perhaps to do perhaps but a good account nonetheless. I would think that at some stage a separate article on the Principal Bird Deity could be worthwhile (instead of redirecting to here), as a sort of Mesoamerican 'deity archtype'. For another day perhaps, one for the list... cheers, --cjllwʘTALK06:03, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
